At 5:45 this morning this is what it looked like out of the driver's window of the house. It is supposed to be May!
Just a few days ago the flowers were just really putting on a show.
Oh well! There is still work to be done. The bathroom in the BDL, a staff house which is being renovated to house the camp Pastor, is going to get a real facelift. The old fluorescent fixture is being replaced with four can lights. Also, the showers will be replaced with a tub and shower surround and the floor will be covered with a new ceramic tile.
Of course the old floor isn't coming up easily so Keith had to scrape it with a chisel.
Of course there is still need to build a new rifle range (since we destroyed the old one) and the space for the new range is about as level as the top of my head, sooooo, we will need to loosen some of the dirt in this bank, which is mostly rock, and move the dirt to the site of the range.
Of course the ladies are always busy with the cleaning and organizing of the camp facilities.
They do such a great job, and are happy to do it too!
When coming back from Joplin the other day we came up behind a trailer with this sign on it. We didn't have any idea what it was but we were soon to find out.
The following Sunday was biker's Sunday at Monett Community Church. We had a great group of bikers in attendance and found out that the trailer we had seen belonged to one of them. Their group, BACA, Bikers Against Child Abuse responds to child abuse cases and does all they can to make sure the victims are protected, even appearing in court with them to give them the security to speak out.
Of course some of the bikers are just pretty special to me. (For those who do not know this beautiful lady, this is my wife and she is just borrowing the seat for a minute).
We have had such a wonderful array of feathered friends here at Barnabas.
The yellow finches have molted and are YELLOW. This is one of the females.
We have had some strange hummingbirds at the feeder. I don't know if this oriel is picking off the bugs which land on the feeder or trying to get the nectar?
But, the hummers do come to eat and of course, even though there is more nectar than they can eat and there are 10 feeder locations, they still fight over who gets to eat.
Oh well, the snow will pass and the flowers will continue to bloom---
---the turtles will come up on the deck to sun--
---and God will still be in control of it all.
