After a final week at Gospel Rescue Mission where we were busy finishing things in the Transition House, we hit the road NORTH. (Whew, it was getting hot in Tucson). Along the way we were able to stop and see some good friends and see all of our children and grandchildren.
First we stopped in Lordsburg, NM, and Kirk and Rhonda came down from Silver city and met us for breakfast. After a short visit we weighed anchor and headed for Albuquerque.
We stopped at the home of our dear friends, Roger and Patty Bracht. After a visit to the art display and an evening meal at the hot spot across the street from the U of NM, we sat down to a serious game of Five Crowns. Surprise, surprise Patty won the game (again).
The next morning we sailed further north, dropping anchor at the Cherry Creek State Park near Denver where the trees were just budding.
We were also blessed with the beautiful flight of some pelicans.
Again, we met family over food. Brother Mike and his two youngn's Amy and Levi along with son Matthew, daughter Jenifer and her crew, Trenton (T), Jake and Mahlia.
We tarried a few days then struck out for places further north. We are again settled at Sunshine Bible Academy near Miller, SD. We have met up with old friends from there, observed a beautiful Senior Chapel service featuring a couple boys from South Korea and watched a melodrama and talent show.
Right now we are singing that old song, "Hello mother, hello father, here I am at Camp Granada" since for the last 24 hours it has been raining and tonight it is supposed to be in the low 30's.
Oh well! All in all, God is so good.
Welcome back to South Dakota Wakemans, we have missed you and look forard to seeing you this summer! The Stee's
